My kids loved this clever and ghoulish parody of the children's classic, "Madeline". They laughed most of the way through. It's difficult for me to find things my 7-year-old son will enjoy reading, but this is one book he thoroughly enjoyed!

My 6 year old who is very into Halloween, grossness, and scariness loved this book. Great rhyming for read a loud. I'm always on the lookout for new Halloween books and this one is the hit of this year so far. On par with The Halloweiner. Get it!

Allan Tasman, Professor and Chair, Deparment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Louisville School of Medicine, Kentucky, USA. Professor Tasman is a world-renowned psychiatric leader and educator. He is Secretary for Education of the World Psychiatric Association and also serves as President Elect of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists, an international academic organization representing all countries of the Pacific Rim.

My Review of Stigma and Mental Illness.

I am an advocate, for the rights of those who have a mental illness, I knew one of the authors and when I ordered the book the stigma concerning the mentally ill was very much in the news, so I purchased a copy. I was very disappointed!

One the book is very dated (c.1982/83) and in fairness to the authors I should have realizied that a book about mental illness this old would be out of date. When the book was written, homelessness resulting from the closing of many hospitals and thereby reinforcing stigma had not happened in the numbers that it would by 1988-89.

Bringing back eugenics and sterlizing those with mental illness was very unlikely in the early to mid 1980's to say the least. What you did see in those days was opsition from various "NIMBY's" to community mental health programs in people's neighborhoods. Also there is no real critique of so-called "Medical Model" day treatment programs, in which young and middle aged adults were treated like 2 and 5 year old children.

You are better off if you get your information concerning stigma from the movie "One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest" than this book.

About the Author
Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of Cincinnati. She taught her first business writing class as a doctoral student at the University of Illinois in the early 1980s and has been teaching workplace writing ever since. She helped establish the University of Cincinnati’s professional writing program and has served as its coordinator. She has also won the English Department’s teaching award, directed the department’s graduate program, and helped direct the composition program. Dr. Rentz’s affiliation with the Association for Business Communication goes back to her beginnings as a business writing teacher. Dr. Rentz was named the 2008 winner of the Association for Business Communication's (ABC’s) Outstanding Teacher Award. In addition, an article she co-authored in 2007 just won the association’s award for Outstanding Article in the Journal of Business Communication. She has performed many roles for the association, including serving on the board of directors, organizing a conference, and chairing the publications board. She served two terms as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Communication and was Interim Editor from 2000–2001, for which she won the Francis W. Weeks Award of Merit. Dr. Rentz has published articles and commentary on pedagogy, genre theory, narrative, and ethics in such journals as Business Communication Quarterly, the Journal of Business Communication, Technical Communication Quarterly, and the Journal of Business and Technical Communication. She has participated in many professional meetings and seminars over the years and is always learning from her colleagues and her students.

A rap sounded on the aluminum door. Zach, the nearest, opened it. Standing on the top step was the foxiest chick he'd ever seen. She had long blonde hair, and the blouse she wore was soaked. He started to scan her slender form, but couldn't get past her bosom. The wet fabric clung to her breasts making them look bare. They were perfect. Zach's manhood liked what he saw, because it jumped, ready for action.
Casting a warm smile, she waved. "Hi, I'm Carol. I don't suppose you have a bathroom I could use, do you?"
God, she was gorgeous. Her square face, blue-green eyes and cute nose surrounded by that three-foot-long mane of silky hair were pure eye-candy. He stepped aside, inviting her in. "Of course. Come in, please."
Her eyes sparkled, dancing with amusement as she took a single step inside and set her carryall handbag off to the side.
The guy's eyes widened, when they saw who'd come in.
Carol raised her index finger to her luscious, full lips. "You guys were the opening band, weren't you?"
Reacting like zombies, they nodded.
Zach managed to mutter, "Yes, Maidenhead."
She eased up to him and spread her long, elegant fingers across his chest. "Like the name. How'd ya come up with that?"
She was young, but older than them. She oozed confidence and with her looks, why shouldn't she. He shrugged. "It seemed different and we like girls."
She giggled. "And I like guys. You're the singer."
"And lead guitar. I'm Zach."
Her hand slid up to his face and her fingers brushed his cheek. "Right, I love your voice. And your eyes. What color are they?"
"Brownish green. Some say hazel."
"Well they're different. Bedroom eyes."
Of course, Zach had seen women as beautiful as Carol. In magazines, on TV and in the movies, but he'd never been near one. Until Carol, it seemed like they were just out there, in some other world, maybe not even real. "Thanks, I think."
Carol made him so nervous he couldn't think, so he introduced the guys. "The guys on the couch is our rhythm guitar player, Rossi and our keyboardist, Petey." Both nodded "And the Viking-looking character scarfing a sandwich is Hogan, our drummer."
Zach realized he was no longer tired. It was amazing what a beautiful sexy woman could do. He draped an arm over her bare shoulder. "Guys this gorgeous creature is Carol."
They all nodded or waved. "Hi Carol."
Sashaying to his band-mates, she bent over and shook each of their hands. "Pleased to meet you. My, you're all so good looking."
Rossi said, "You're all wet. What happened to you?"

Steamy moments aside, the fact that this centered around the Monterey Pop Festival, and had all the hallmarks and colloquialisms of the summer of '67 really made this an entertaining read...
Did it read like a porno at times? Yes.

Towards the end�it was almost too much and I was just as dizzy as Carol!
Let me tell you, I�was huddled over my Kindle�looking over my shoulder and giggling like a naughty school girl. �I LOVED it!

A great erotic story with a typical scenario, and lots of refreshing twists included!

I give this pleasantly naughty little book 2-thumps up!!! With my heart anxiously pounding for more, it had me on the edge of my chair reading every sentence in excitement with wide eyes. My temperature was rising with the turn of every jaw dropping page. To say the sex scene was good would be an understatement. The sex shared between all of these characters was amazing!!! The author did a great job using descriptive writing. The writing was so well written I felt like a fly on the wall within the story. Featuring a typical scenario, but with lots of refreshing twists included, you are going to love “Sleeping with the Band.” I did!!!

This needs proofreading, a thesaurus, and some excitement

Two very annoying examples of lack of proof reading: Goy = God, I assume and thee = the, again I assume. And these are not the only examples. There are also serious formatting errors throughout that just make it hard to read the story.

Next the scenario is just too tame to be called a gang-bang in my opinion. And the physical ability of 5 guys to be with and pleasure 1 woman was not worked out well by the author. Yes, some things must be left to the imagination of the reader, but the question on everyone's mind is how do you get 6 people on a queen size bed and not have them sitting on each other? The band could have been a quartet or a trio and the sex would have worked a lot better.

Word choice is something else the author needs to think about as well. I'm reading an erotic story, yes. Hot babe is being worked over by 3 or 4 guys at one time if I saw that I would think that it is a very erotic tableau, yes. She is not going to think this is erotic or think that she is literally having a feeling of erotic pleasure. I, the onlooker, will describe the scene as erotic but the people inside the scene would probably never seen themselves or think to themselves as being erotic or having erotic feelings unless they were doing performance art or an alien learning our language for the first time and have a lack of words to choose from.

A simple, yet thorough, examination

It's tough to find a decent, simple, easy-to-follow examination of the differences between an LLC, S-Corp, and C-Corp. When my accountant started telling me about this stuff, my head nearly imploded. Further research on making the right choice wasn't helpful at all. In fact, in some cases, it only made things worse. But this book was as illuminating as the big, shiny lightbulb on its cover. I even uncovered a key item that my accountant had forgotten to mention. Can't recommend this book enough.

A basic overview - just what I needed

Mr. Piper's book provides an excellent introduction to the major ways a business can legally organize in the United States. I acquired this book to prepare myself to meet with my tax attorney to discuss whether and how I ought to incorporate. Based on what I learned from this book, I was able to approach my attorney with sufficient knowledge to ask him more in-depth questions that pertained to my specific situation. This saved me time and money.

The only major improvement I would make to the book is to illustrate, in table form, the key characteristics of each major incorporation structure.

I will refer to this book again in the future and do not plan to supplement it or replace it with another book of its type.

Clear, concise summary of business entities

This book couldn't have come at a better time-- I'm in the process of starting my own software consulting business and I have spent weeks agonizing over which type of entity to create for my new company. Mike's book was an invaluable resource in helping me to understand the pros and cons, from both the tax and legal perspective, of each entity. A must read if you're about to take the plunge into the world of small business!

Who says Catholics aren't a fun lot?

This books reminds me of how much fun we, as Catholics, are. Michael P. Foley brings out the joy of the Faith in a rather refreshing, unexpected way. In the Old Testament, we read how God delights in wine. If wine gladdens the heart, then Michael P. Foley's little gem has brought joy to the soul.

On a side note. Take this little book with you to Mass. Drinking with the Saints makes for great spiritual reading. It certainly helped me get through some horrid music during the Offertory. I was reading the section on St. Gregory the Great (of Gregorian Chant fame) when Hail Mary/Gentle Woman began. This little tome certainly numbed the pain.

Heavy with classic and original recipes, good cheer, and the Saints. Beautifully bound. My Methodist mother-in-law and Southern Baptist mom both love it. I'm giving it to my Reformed Baptist brother soon.

"Drinking with the Saints" is a treasure of a book. It is filled with highly readable, often funny, stories of our saints. The recipes are almost too inviting!!. The book, itself, is a thing of beauty. Wonderful illustrations. Organized by day and month. Striking layout. Even the book's paper is high quality. Don't buy one, because you'll want to give this book away. Perfect for college graduation, for birthdays and anniversaries. And what better gift for Father's Day to help dad out of his Scotch and water rut.

Richard Barsam (Ph.D., University of Southern California) is Professor Emeritus of Film Studies at Hunter College, City University of New York. He is the author of Nonfiction Film: A Critical History (rev., exp. ed. 1992), The Vision of Robert Flaherty: The Artist as Myth and Filmmaker (1988), In the Dark: A Primer for the Movies (1977), and Filmguide to "Triumph of the Will" (1975); editor of Nonfiction Film Theory and Criticism (1976); and contributing author to Paul Monaco’s The Sixties: 1960–1969 (Vol. 8, History of the American Cinema, 2001) and Filming Robert Flaherty’s "Louisiana Story": The Helen Van Dongen Diary (ed. Eva Orbanz, 1998). His articles and book reviews have appeared in Cinema Journal, Quarterly Review of Film Studies, Film Comment, Studies in Visual Communication, and Harper’s. This bookwas a great read. Dave Monohan did a great job explaining technique, which is great for the novice, perfect for a beginning film class. The information was comprehensive. For the various scenes in the described, youtube almost always had clips for you to view the scenes yourself. Which was a bonus, I did not expect.

Nicholas G. Meriwether read history at Princeton and Cambridge, where his study of bohemianism eventually led to this book. In addition to his fiction, his writings on popular culture, music, and Southern literature and history have appeared in a wide array of books, anthologies, and journals. He is the Oral Historian at the South Caroliniana Library at the University of South Carolina.
